The Enchanted Forest is 17 acres of old-growth forestland with 300 feet of Sandy River frontage — both banks are part of the property. Every campsite is a short walk in from the parking area (wheelbarrows and carts are provided), which is exactly what keeps it quiet: no road noise, no neighbors you can see, just the river and the firs. The driveway in from Marmot Road is part of the original Oregon Trail, preserved by the Bureau of Land Management.
Bring a paddleboard or kayak when the river's running. You're two miles from the Sandy Ridge mountain-bike trails, twenty minutes from Government Camp, and about thirty-five from Timberline.
Direct river access and a flat spot for a hammock, a 4–5 minute walk from parking. Rocky bank right at the site.
Room for about four tents — the group site. Wheelbarrow and cart on hand to move gear in and out. Bring a tarp; horsetails are abundant.
The furthest in — an eight-minute walk — and the most private, with its own access to the river near the rapids.
A rustic 12×14 cabin with a king bed, four minutes in, on the river with its own private sandy beach. BBQ with a side burner, picnic table, fire pit, indoor propane heat.
Easily one of the best camping experiences we've had. Absolutely stunning walk to the cabin, and our own private beach.
Truly an awesome location — very unexpected. Once you walk down the hill, it's like a different world.
I'm obsessed with this Hipcamp and have stayed here three times. I always bring at least one of my dogs and they love the property.
A beautiful spot right by the river. We truly had the best weekend.
